Shed installation looks simple in the flat-pack world, but the difference between a shed that lasts and one that fights you every winter usually comes down to how it was put up. We install garden sheds properly: prepared, level and built to hold.

The base comes first

Nothing matters more than the base. A shed needs a level, firm foundation — paving slabs on compacted ground, a concrete pad or a purpose-made base system — and if the base is wrong, the shed will be wrong whatever happens above it. We check your existing base for level and stability before assembly, and tell you honestly if it needs correction, because installing on a poor base means doors that won't close and a frame that racks within months. If you're planning a new base, we can advise what suits the shed and the ground. Before any work at ground level, underground services matter: we locate carefully and use detectors where appropriate, though no scan guarantees what's below, so we'd ask you to check any utility plans you have.

How we assemble the shed

We work from the manufacturer's instructions and the delivered kit: the floor assembled level, the frame squared and braced, panels fixed with the intended fixings rather than shortcuts, the roof fitted with its covering properly secured, and trims, seals and felt edges finished to keep the weather out. Doors and windows are hung, aligned and checked for smooth closing, and hardware is fitted as specified. We dispose of packaging sensibly — agreeing green waste and packaging disposal with you in advance where relevant — and leave the site tidy.

What we need from you

A clear, level access route from the delivery point to the base, the base ready before we arrive, and the shed kit delivered and checked — it's worth counting the panels against the instructions before we start, because missing parts stop everything. Please tell us about the shed's size and manufacturer, whether the kit has been opened, and what the base situation is. Access matters for larger buildings too, so mention anything tight — gates, steps, overgrown paths.

Weather, timing and limits

Assembly is weather-dependent — felt roofs and sealing need dry conditions — so we schedule around the forecast and tell you plainly if weather must delay the work. A standard shed installation is planned as a working day on the agreed scope; if the base needs correcting or the kit turns out to have issues, we'll discuss the change before continuing, and nothing proceeds without your approval on the quote. We don't guarantee against future settlement or weathering, and we can't promise the manufacturer's kit is complete or defect-free — but we'll flag anything we find rather than build over it. Larger buildings are a separate quoted project after survey.

If the shed comes with felt or roofing material to fit, we'll handle that as part of the build, and where a shed sits close to a boundary or under trees we'll point out anything that will affect its future — overhanging branches that keep the roof damp, or a spot where rain bounces off paving onto the lower boards. Small positioning decisions made on installation day pay off for the life of the building.

Booking your installation

Call or book through the website with the shed's size and manufacturer, the base type and condition, and your access situation. You'll pay a booking fee when you book, labour is charged hourly at a rate that depends on how soon you need the visit, and the full cost is quoted and approved before work starts, with any parts or base materials quoted separately.

How the price works

We charge a booking fee to hold your slot, then an hourly rate for the work itself. The fee changes with how soon you need us; the hourly rate changes with the slot you choose. You approve the price before we start, so there is no surprise on the invoice.

A shed is only as good as its installation. Poured onto an uneven base or assembled with the panels out of square, even a quality shed will rack, stick and leak within a couple of seasons. Our installation service builds your shed the way the manufacturer intends — level, square, properly fixed and weather-tight — and leaves you with a building that's ready to fill, not to fix.

What our customers say about our outdoor & exterior service

4.6 out of 5 from 10 reviews

Sorted the same day

Rang in the morning and they got to us in Wolverhampton by early afternoon. Very clear about what needed doing, what it would cost and what could wait. No pressure to add extras. Exactly the sort of tradesperson you want.

Job: Uneven Shed Base

Turned up when they said

Turned up in the window they promised, walked me through the options (turns out the previous installer had left the pipework awkward to get to), then cracked on. Everything was tested before they left. No mess, no drama, no surprise on the bill.

Job: Water-Damaged Patio

Good work, poor communication

Work itself was fine and tidy. Communication beforehand was patchy — I did not get the confirmation message and had to ring to check the slot. Would still use again.

Job: Sinking Driveway

Questions people ask about shed installation

Straight answers to the things customers ask most often before booking.

Can I install a shed myself?

Many people do, and a confident DIYer with a helper can manage a small shed. The common failures are uneven bases, frames assembled out of square and roofs felted badly — all of which cause problems that only show up later. If the base isn't level or the kit is large and heavy, professional installation usually pays for itself in the first year.

Do I need a special base before the shed arrives?

Yes — a level, firm base such as slabs, concrete or a proper base system is essential, and it should be ready before installation day. We check your base for level and stability first and will tell you honestly if it needs correction before the shed goes on it.

How long does installation take?

A standard shed is planned as a working day, but the honest answer depends on the base condition, the kit and the weather — felt and sealing need dry conditions. We agree the scope before starting and tell you plainly if anything means the work needs more time or a return visit.

What if parts are missing from my shed kit?

It's worth checking the kit against the instructions before we arrive, because missing or damaged parts stop assembly. If we find an issue on the day, we'll flag it and discuss the options — sourcing the part or completing everything else first — rather than improvising with fixings that aren't the manufacturer's.

How much does installation cost?

You pay a booking fee when you book, and labour is charged hourly at a rate that depends on how soon you need the visit. The full cost is quoted and approved before work starts, with any parts or base materials quoted separately, so nothing proceeds without your approval.
