hese terms apply to all repair and maintenance work carried out by Maintenance Men for domestic customers. By booking a visit you accept them.

What we do

Household repairs and maintenance across the West Midlands, including plumbing, electrical, heating (water-side), appliances, drainage, security and general handyman work.

Important — gas work: we do not carry out any work on gas appliances, gas pipework or gas boilers. Where a job turns out to involve gas-side work, we will diagnose and explain what we can see, then help you arrange a suitably qualified and registered engineer to complete it safely.

Bookings, the booking fee and hourly labour

Every booking has two parts: a booking fee that holds your slot, and an hourly labour rate for the time the job takes.

  • Booked 14+ days ahead — £25 booking fee + £85 per hour
  • Booked within 48 hours — £100 booking fee + £65 per hour
  • Same-day — £220 booking fee + £45 per hour

The engineer will diagnose the problem, explain what is needed and confirm the expected time and cost before starting work. Work begins only with your agreement. Where a job runs longer than agreed, the engineer will tell you before continuing.

Cancellation

Your cancellation rights are set out on our Cancellation & Refunds page.

Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work. We accept card payments through SumUp, bank transfer and cash. Invoices are issued for every job.

Parts and materials

Parts we supply are new and covered by the manufacturer's warranty. If you ask us to fit parts you have bought yourself, we will fit them in good faith but cannot warrant the part or accept liability if it fails or is unsuitable.

Workmanship

If a defect in our workmanship appears within 30 days of the job, tell us and we will return to put it right at no charge for labour. This is separate from, and in addition to, any manufacturer's warranty on parts.

Liability

We are responsible for loss or damage caused by our negligence or breach of these terms, up to the total price you paid for the job, except where the law does not allow that limit. We are not responsible for pre-existing faults, damage caused by attempted DIY or third-party repairs, or delays outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Complaints

Tell the engineer on the day if something is not right — most issues are solved on the spot. Otherwise call 0121 667 4946 or email [email protected] with 'complaint' in the subject line. We will acknowledge within 2 working days and aim to resolve complaints within 14 days.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
