One planned session instead of five half-jobs

There is a particular kind of clutter that accumulates in a home between its first day and its settled one: mirrors still in their boxes, framed prints leaning on the sideboard, a shelf that never found its wall, hooks that would fix the hallway if anyone ever got round to them. Each item is a twenty-minute job on its own, which is why none of them ever gets done. A full home wall setup tackles the lot in one planned visit — and the planning is what makes it work.

How we scope the job before the day

The essential rule of a wall setup visit is that the list is agreed in advance, and the estimate covers that agreed list — not an open invitation to hang anything anyone finds in a cupboard on the day. When you enquire, tell us what you have and roughly what sizes and weights are involved: the mirror in the hall, six framed photos, the floating shelves for the living room, the TV bracket if that is on the list, the clock, the coat hooks. From that we build the day's schedule with you.

A typical full setup session is booked as a defined block of around six hours. That is comfortably enough for a substantial list on an ordinary home, but honesty matters here: a very extensive list — a whole house's worth of frames, multiple shelves, several heavy mirrors and a TV each — may not fit one session, and we would rather stage the work over two or more visits than rush the last hour. We will say this at quoting, and the plan is yours to approve.

How the day itself runs

We arrive, walk the list with you, and confirm each item's position before drilling. Then we work through it in a deliberate order: the heavy and structural items first — mirrors, shelves, the TV if it is on the list — while there is plenty of time and energy for them, then the lighter pieces in room order. Every item gets its own assessment: what the wall is made of at that point, what fixing the weight requires, and where pipes and cables are likely to run, because a house's walls vary from room to room and we never drill blindly.

Items you supply come ready with their own brackets and hardware where they have them; anything we need to supply is agreed and quoted separately from the labour. If a position turns out not to take a safe fixing, we stop on that item, explain why, and agree an alternative with you rather than force it.

The boundaries we agree up front

A wall setup visit covers hanging and fixing. It does not quietly grow into painting, plastering, furniture assembly or electrical work — if we spot something outside the list, we will point it out and you can decide whether it becomes its own booking. Decoration that reveals itself when old fittings come down is made good only as agreed at quoting.

What to have ready

The best-prepared setup day is an easy one: items out of packaging, a room-by-room list of what goes where, and the rooms we are working in cleared enough to set up ladders and lay out tools. If you are unsure about positions for some items, that is fine — we allocate decision time as we go, and you approve each position at the wall.

Aftercare and the week after

Once everything is up, give the heavy items a check after their first week, especially anything on plasterboard. Keep loads within what was agreed for shelves, and if anything shifts or creaks, call us while it is a ten-minute adjustment. The aim of the visit is simple: you should never have to think about it again.

Booking your setup day

Enquire with your list, and we will tell you plainly whether it fits a single session or should be staged. Same-day availability cannot be assumed for a full setup day, but shorter-notice slots may exist. Booking is simple: the booking fee is paid when you book, the hourly labour rate depends on how soon you need the visit, and the full cost for the agreed list is quoted and approved before we start.

How the price works

We charge a booking fee to hold your slot, then an hourly rate for the work itself. The fee changes with how soon you need us; the hourly rate changes with the slot you choose. You approve the price before we start, so there is no surprise on the invoice.

Booked 14+ days ahead

£25 booking fee

then £85 per hour of labour

Best value. Book the slot now, pay the smallest booking fee.

Booked within 48 hours

£100 booking fee

then £65 per hour of labour

For jobs that can wait a day or two but not a fortnight.

Same-day call-out

£220 booking fee

then £45 per hour of labour

Urgent problems: standing water, no heat, no power, leaks.

1

Book the slot

Choose the window that suits you and pay the booking fee. That holds your place in the diary.

2

We diagnose on site

The engineer confirms the cause and tells you what the job involves and how long it should take.

3

You approve, we work

Nothing goes ahead until you agree the price. Labour is then charged per hour at your slot rate.

Moving in, redecorating, or simply living with pictures leaning against skirting boards — at some point every home needs a whole round of hanging done at once. Rather than booking five separate visits, we plan the list with you in advance and work through it methodically in one session. You approve exactly what goes where, and we hang it all properly, item by item.

Questions people ask about full home wall setup

Straight answers to the things customers ask most often before booking.

Could I just hang everything myself over a weekend?

You could, and plenty do — the usual outcome is a weekend spent, a few holes in the wrong places and a heavy mirror still in its box because it needs two people and the right fixings. A setup visit trades your weekend for a planned session with the right hardware for every wall type, and the positions agreed properly rather than guessed at eye level.

What does the visit cover?

It covers hanging and fixing everything on the list we agree with you in advance: pictures, mirrors, shelves, hooks, clocks, curtain rails and TV mounting where that is on the list, each assessed for its wall and weight. It does not cover painting, plastering, rewiring or jobs outside the agreed list — anything extra we spot becomes a separate decision for you.

What if my list is too long for one visit?

Then we stage it. A defined session of around six hours covers a substantial list, but a whole house's worth of frames, shelves and heavy pieces may need two or more visits to do properly. We would rather tell you that at quoting and plan it honestly than rush the tail end of the list and compromise on the fixing quality.

Do I need to supply the shelves, brackets and hardware?

Usually yes — you supply the items themselves and any brackets or hardware they come with, and we fit them. If you would like us to source particular fixings or hardware, tell us when you enquire and we will identify what is needed and quote it separately from the labour so you can approve it before anything is bought.

How is a full home setup priced?

A booking fee is paid when you book. Labour is charged hourly, and the rate depends on how soon you need the visit — booking ahead is generally cheaper than a tight turnaround. We quote the full cost for the agreed list before work starts and you approve it; any materials to be supplied are quoted separately within that approval.
