One leak is a nuisance. Several leaks appearing around the same time is a pattern, and patterns usually have a cause. It might be a roof reaching the end of its underlay's life, storm damage affecting one slope in several places, a failed valley leaking into two rooms, or blocked drainage pushing water back under the roof edge in multiple spots. Treating each drip as an isolated problem tends to produce repeated call-outs and repeated invoices. Our job on a multi-leak visit is to understand the roof as a system and give you one honest plan.
Why leaks cluster
Roof coverings are designed as layers — tiles or slates over felt or underlay, over battens, over rafters. Water that gets past the outer layer is meant to be caught by the underlay and run to the gutter. When the underlay ages or tears, or when fixings corrode, small weaknesses across a slope start admitting water at once. Valleys, ridges and roof-to-wall junctions are vulnerable because they concentrate water flow. On flat roofs, an ageing membrane often fails along seams in several places simultaneously.
How we assess a roof with several leaks
We work through it methodically. Inside first: we record every stain and drip position, check the loft for damp timbers and wet insulation, and map which parts of the roof structure sit above each problem. Then we examine the outside — tiles, ridges, verges, flashing, valleys, gutters and, on flat roofs, seams and upstands — from safe access only. We will not walk fragile roofs or improvise access, and if the only proper view needs scaffolding or a roofing specialist, we will say so rather than guess. Where a leak is weather-dependent, we will be honest that a further observation in heavy rain may be needed.
The plan we give you
You get the findings in plain English: what is leaking, why, and how the defects relate to each other. Some repairs are urgent — anything letting water onto electrics or into living space. Others can sensibly wait or be combined into one efficient visit. If the pattern points to a roof at the end of its life, we will tell you that, with the trade-offs of continued spot repairs versus a replacement project quoted after survey. Storm-damaged roofs are made safe first, with temporary sheeting as an honest interim while permanent work is quoted.
Safety first while you wait
Keep people away from dripping areas, move valuables and soft furnishings, and put containers under active drips. If water is near light fittings, sockets or the consumer unit, do not touch them — get electrics checked by a qualified person. Stay out of the loft except briefly, stepping only on joists. Do not go up ladders in wet or windy weather to look for yourself.
Aftercare and monitoring
After repairs, we suggest checking the affected rooms after the first heavy rain and keeping gutters and valleys clear. Multi-leak roofs deserve periodic attention: a short maintenance inspection each year or two catches the next weakness before it becomes a stained ceiling.
Booking your visit
Contact Maintenance Men by phone or through maintenance-men.com. Tell us how many leak points you have noticed, which rooms, and when they appear — that pattern alone often tells us a lot before we arrive. If you can, send photos of the stains and any visible roof damage. You pay a booking fee when you book, labour is charged hourly at a rate that depends on how soon you need the visit, and the full cost is quoted and approved before work starts, with parts quoted separately.
How the price works
We charge a booking fee to hold your slot, then an hourly rate for the work itself. The fee changes with how soon you need us; the hourly rate changes with the slot you choose. You approve the price before we start, so there is no surprise on the invoice.

We diagnose on site
The engineer confirms the cause and tells you what the job involves and how long it should take.
You approve, we work
Nothing goes ahead until you agree the price. Labour is then charged per hour at your slot rate.
Several leaks at once usually means the roof is telling you something bigger than a single slipped tile. We inspect the roof as a whole, map every water path we can find, and set out an honest plan — from targeted repairs to a wider conversation about the roof's condition. Nothing is repaired until you have seen the diagnosis and approved a quote.
What our customers say about our outdoor & exterior service
4.6 out of 5 from 10 reviews
Sorted the same day
Rang in the morning and they got to us in Wolverhampton by early afternoon. Very clear about what needed doing, what it would cost and what could wait. No pressure to add extras. Exactly the sort of tradesperson you want.
Job: Uneven Shed Base
Turned up when they said
Turned up in the window they promised, walked me through the options (turns out the previous installer had left the pipework awkward to get to), then cracked on. Everything was tested before they left. No mess, no drama, no surprise on the bill.
Job: Water-Damaged Patio
Good work, poor communication
Work itself was fine and tidy. Communication beforehand was patchy — I did not get the confirmation message and had to ring to check the slot. Would still use again.
Job: Sinking Driveway

Questions people ask about multiple roof leaks
Straight answers to the things customers ask most often before booking.
Is it worth repairing a roof that leaks in several places?
Sometimes yes — a single failed valley or one storm can cause multiple leaks that are all individually fixable. Sometimes the honest answer is that the roof is reaching the end of its life and further leaks will follow. We give you the diagnosis and the trade-offs, including replacement quoted after survey, so you can decide with real information.
What do you look at when there are multiple leaks?
We map every stain and drip inside, inspect the loft for damp timbers and wet insulation, then assess the whole roof externally — tiles, underlay condition where visible, ridges, valleys, flashing, gutters and flat roof seams. The aim is to find the underlying pattern, not just the worst drip.
Can you guarantee to fix every leak in one visit?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Some leaks only show in driving rain, some access needs scaffolding, and some roofs need a specialist. What we can do is diagnose thoroughly, make everything safe, repair what is practical with your approval, and be clear about anything that needs a further visit or different access.
Could blocked gutters really cause several leaks at once?
Yes. When gutters or roof valleys overflow, water can back up under the roof edge or tile laps at several points along a run, so one blocked section can create leaks in more than one room. It is one of the first things we check because it is a common and fixable cause.
How is the cost worked out for a multi-leak roof?
You pay a booking fee when you book, and labour is charged hourly at a rate that depends on how soon you need the visit. The full cost of the work is quoted and approved before work starts, so you approve it before any tools come out, with parts quoted separately.
