What counts as a wall fixture
The small wall hardware that keeps a home organised: coat hooks and hook rails by the front door, a mug rack or utensil rail in the kitchen, broom and tool clips in the utility room, hose hooks and storage tracks in the garage, key cabinets, noticeboards, wall-mounted ironing board brackets and the like. Individually each is a small job; fitted properly, they are the difference between hardware that lasts and hardware that works loose within a season.
Load and wall decide the fixing
A single coat hook is a light fixing; a hook rail holding four winter coats is not. We look at what each fixture will actually carry — the real everyday load, not the hoped-for one — and at what the wall is made of where it will go. Solid masonry takes plugs and screws matched to the load. Plasterboard needs the fixings to land on studs or noggin pieces where possible, or quality hollow-wall anchors where not, with an honest word about what that arrangement will carry. Older plaster is checked for condition, because crumbly plaster will not hold even the correct fixing for long.
We also plan the positions around the usual routes of cables and pipes — a hook rail beside a socket is a different conversation from one on a blank wall — and we do not make a hole we are not satisfied about. If a planned spot cannot take a sound fixing, we agree an alternative with you before proceeding.
How the fitting goes
Marking first: the height agreed with you, a level line across the fixing points rather than one at a time, and spacing that suits the use — hooks for daily coats sit where a hand can reach them without thinking. Then drilling and fixing, the fixture screwed down tight, and a check that everything sits square and solid. Multi-hook rails get every fixing, not just the two at the ends, because rails flex under real loads.
If the fixture came with fixings, we use the maker's where they suit the wall; where they do not, we say so and agree substitutes, quoted separately as materials.
Positioning for how a home is used
Height and position for fixtures are worth agreeing properly, because they are used dozens of times a day by every hand in the house. Coat hooks for adults sit very differently from hooks for children's coats and bags; a utility-room rail wants to clear the machines and the door swing; a garage storage track wants its heaviest anchor points where the wall is soundest. We ask who uses each fixture and how, hold each piece at the proposed height, and only fix once you are happy — moving a hook rail after the fact is easy, but the holes it leaves behind are not.
What we do not fit
Anything wired is outside our scope: wall lights, illuminated cabinets and the like are electrical work for an electrician. Fittings that connect to plumbing — a heated towel rail plumbed into the system, for example — are a plumber's job. We fit mechanical, non-services fixtures only, and we say so plainly rather than blur the line.
Preparing and aftercare
Have the fixtures and any supplied fixings ready, tell us roughly how many items there are and where they are going, and mention any wall you are unsure about. Clear the working areas. Afterwards, give heavily used hooks a check after the first month — a quarter-turn of settling on a screw is normal if caught early — and spread heavy coats across a rail rather than loading one hook.
Booking
Tell us how many fixtures there are, what they are, the walls involved and your timescale; same-day may be available. You pay a booking fee on booking, the hourly labour rate depends on how soon you need the visit, and the full cost is quoted and approved before work starts. Fixings not supplied with the fixtures are identified and quoted separately.
How the price works
We charge a booking fee to hold your slot, then an hourly rate for the work itself. The fee changes with how soon you need us; the hourly rate changes with the slot you choose. You approve the price before we start, so there is no surprise on the invoice.

We diagnose on site
The engineer confirms the cause and tells you what the job involves and how long it should take.
You approve, we work
Nothing goes ahead until you agree the price. Labour is then charged per hour at your slot rate.
Wall fixtures are the small hardware that keeps a house working: coat hooks by the door, a mug rack in the kitchen, a tool rail in the garage, a key tidy in the hall. Individually they are quick to fit; the skill is matching the fixing to the wall, so a hook rail loaded with winter coats does not work itself loose by spring.

Questions people ask about wall fixture installation
Straight answers to the things customers ask most often before booking.
Are wall fixtures a DIY job?
A single coat hook on a solid wall, yes. The jobs worth help are multi-hook rails carrying real weight, plasterboard walls where fixings need to find studs, and batches of fixtures fitted in one session at consistent heights. The usual DIY failure is not the hook itself but the fixing behind it, which shows up the first time someone hangs a heavy coat.
What do you do on the visit?
We agree the position and height of each fixture, mark from a level line, and choose fixings for the wall type and the real everyday load the fixture will carry. Multi-hook rails get every fixing, not just the end ones, because rails flex under load. Each fitting is checked square and solid before we move on.
Can you fit wall lights or heated towel rails?
No — anything wired, such as a wall light, is electrical work for an electrician, and a towel rail that connects to the heating or water system is a plumber's job. We fit mechanical fixtures only: hooks, rails, brackets, cabinets that simply screw to the wall, and the like. We would rather state the boundary than blur it.
Can fixtures be moved or added later?
Yes, though each move means new holes, and the old ones need filling, which we can do as part of the visit if agreed. Hooks positioned for daily use — where a hand reaches without thinking — rarely need moving, which is why we agree heights with you before fixing. If you are torn between two heights, we hold the fixture up both ways first.
How does pricing work?
You pay a booking fee when booking, and the hourly labour rate depends on how soon you need the visit. The full cost is quoted before work starts and approved by you. Fixings not supplied with the fixtures are identified and quoted separately as materials.
