More screens, more planning

One television on one wall is a straightforward visit. Three or four screens across a house is a project with logistics: which rooms, which walls, which brackets, which order of work, and how dust and mess from room two stays away from the finished room one. The value of booking it as one planned job is that the sequence is thought through in advance — the ladders and the vacuum travel together, the heavy screens are lifted with help arranged, and nothing is half-finished at the end of the day. The estimate covers a planned visit for the agreed screens, not an open-ended number of extras.

Assessing every wall separately

Each wall gets its own assessment, because a house rarely offers the same wall twice. The living room may be solid brick with a chimney breast and its hidden flues to consider; the bedroom may be a stud partition whose studs need finding; a newer extension may be plasterboard over blockwork. We check each wall's construction, probe for safe fixings and look for signs of concealed pipes and cables — socket spurs and radiator feeds are per-room matters. A detector helps narrow things down, but no scan guarantees what is hidden behind any surface, so we verify each fixing point before drilling and never drill blind. If one wall turns out to be unsuitable, that room gets its own conversation about repositioning or alternatives, while the rest of the visit proceeds as planned.

Brackets, screens and what you supply

You normally supply the televisions and brackets unless we have agreed otherwise, and in a multi-screen job it helps enormously to have them all on site and identified by room before the day. Brackets differ — fixed, tilting, full-motion — and each room's choice shapes the fixing plan and the time it takes. We check every bracket against its screen: fixing pattern, weight rating and the plugs in the box, which are frequently not right for the wall they meet. If a bracket or fixings need replacing, we will flag it early and quote it separately rather than discovering it mid-install.

Running the visit

A sensible order keeps the day moving: we usually start with the most complicated wall while energy and space are fresh, or with the room furthest from the door so we work back toward it — whichever the layout favours. Each screen follows the same disciplined sequence: agree height and position, mark level, establish safe fixings, fix the plate, pull-check it, hang the screen and engage the locks, then tidy the cables before moving on. Larger screens get planned two-person lifts where needed, and we will have flagged which rooms need that help when you booked. Between rooms, the work area is cleared so each room is left finished, not "mostly done".

Cables across the house

Cable expectations should be set room by room. Surface trunking is the standard non-invasive answer and can be painted to match each wall; routing behind or through surfaces happens only where access is agreed for that specific room and the work stays non-invasive. We do not alter electrical wiring anywhere in the house — sockets and circuits are electrician territory, and a multi-room job is not the moment to blur that line. If you want a consistent look across rooms, we can agree one trunking approach and repeat it, which usually makes the whole house look deliberate.

Scope, timing and limits

A multi-screen visit is quoted against the agreed list of screens, walls and cable work. If extra screens or rooms get added on the day, that is a separate discussion about time and cost rather than something absorbed silently — the hourly structure means the visit is charged for the time it takes, but the plan and quote reflect what was agreed. Where a wall needs reinforcement or a repair before it can take a screen, that work is scoped and quoted separately, and we will tell you whether it fits the day or needs a follow-up.

Booking

Same-day slots may be available for smaller multi-screen jobs, but a planned visit with notice is the better fit for several rooms. Tell us how many screens, their sizes and rooms, and what brackets you have, when you book. You pay a booking fee on booking, labour is charged hourly at a rate that depends on how soon you need the visit, and the full cost of the planned work is quoted and approved before anything starts. Extra fixings, trunking or materials are identified and quoted separately.

How the price works

We charge a booking fee to hold your slot, then an hourly rate for the work itself. The fee changes with how soon you need us; the hourly rate changes with the slot you choose. You approve the price before we start, so there is no surprise on the invoice.

Booked 14+ days ahead

£25 booking fee

then £85 per hour of labour

Best value. Book the slot now, pay the smallest booking fee.

Booked within 48 hours

£100 booking fee

then £65 per hour of labour

For jobs that can wait a day or two but not a fortnight.

Same-day call-out

£220 booking fee

then £45 per hour of labour

Urgent problems: standing water, no heat, no power, leaks.

1

Book the slot

Choose the window that suits you and pay the booking fee. That holds your place in the diary.

2

We diagnose on site

The engineer confirms the cause and tells you what the job involves and how long it should take.

3

You approve, we work

Nothing goes ahead until you agree the price. Labour is then charged per hour at your slot rate.

A house with three televisions is three separate mounting jobs wearing one name: different walls, different brackets, different rooms. We plan a multi-screen visit properly — assessing each wall, timing the work and quoting the whole job up front — so the day runs to a plan rather than a improvisation.

Questions people ask about multiple tv installation

Straight answers to the things customers ask most often before booking.

Is it cheaper to mount several TVs in one visit?

Usually it is more efficient than separate visits, because the setup, tools and travel are shared — but the honest measure is time, and several screens take several sets of wall assessment and fixing. Labour is hourly, so the total reflects the work involved. A single planned visit avoids repeated booking fees and keeps the day organised.

What do you assess for each TV?

Each wall is assessed separately — its construction, safe fixing points, and signs of concealed pipes and cables — along with each bracket against its screen. A detector helps narrow down what is behind each surface but cannot guarantee it, so every fixing point is verified before drilling and never drilled blind.

Can different walls in the same house need different methods?

Almost always. A chimney breast, a stud wall and a plasterboard wall each need different fixings and carry different limits, and most houses contain a mix. That is why we quote a multi-screen job after understanding what each wall is, rather than assuming one method fits the whole house.

Do I need to help with lifting on the day?

For large screens, possibly — we may ask you to arrange a second pair of hands for the heavy lifts, and we will tell you which rooms need that when you book. It keeps the day safe and quick. Small and medium screens are manageable for one installer.

How is a multi-TV visit priced?

You pay a booking fee on booking, and hourly labour at a rate that depends on how soon you need the visit. The full cost of the agreed work is quoted and you approve it before we start. Additional screens or rooms added later, and any fixings, trunking or materials, are identified and quoted separately.
