Shed walls take a beating. Sun, rain, frost and accidental knocks all take their toll on cladding, and because the walls carry the roof, damage left unchecked can start to affect the whole structure. The tricky part is that outside damage doesn't always tell the whole story — water often gets behind a split panel and quietly rots the frame or the floor edge, so a proper assessment matters.
Common causes of shed wall damage
Wooden sheds suffer split or cupped boards, gaps where shiplap or tongue-and-groove cladding has shrunk, rot at the bottom of the walls where splashback and damp ground sit against the timber, and impact damage from mowers, bikes and footballs. Metal sheds corrode at scratches and panel edges and can dent or shift at fixings. Plastic and composite panels crack in frost or buckle where they've been fixed too tightly. Wind is a frequent culprit: a loose panel that flaps in a storm often tears out further fixings before it finally comes free.
How we assess the damage
We examine the outside cladding panel by panel, then look inside at the frame members, checking for rot, staining and movement where walls meet the floor and roof. We test how sound the fixings are, whether the walls are still pulling their share of the roof load and whether the damage is isolated or part of a wider pattern. Where a shed stands on a damp or uneven base, we check whether the bottom of the walls is being kept permanently wet, because replacing boards without addressing that is money poured down the drain.
Repair and replacement options
Isolated split or rotten boards can often be replaced individually, matched to the existing cladding. Wider areas of damage may justify re-cladding a whole side, and if the frame behind is affected we'll tell you before quoting any panel work — new cladding on rotten studs won't hold. Corroded fixings and lifted trims are straightforward repairs, and treating or protecting repaired areas helps them weather alongside the rest. Where the damage is so extensive that repairs approach the cost of a replacement shed, we'll be straight with you about that too. Whatever the route, the full cost is quoted and approved before work starts, with materials quoted separately.
Weather, timing and honest limits
Wall repairs are weather-dependent — wet timber can't be treated or sealed properly, and exposed walls can't be left open overnight, so we plan the work around the forecast and stage it if needed. We don't promise a repair before we've diagnosed the problem, and we can't guarantee against future weathering, but a repair that deals with the underlying cause gives the shed the best chance of a long life. If the shed is old and you're unsure what the panels are made of, we won't disturb anything that could contain asbestos without testing advice first.
It's worth resisting the temptation to silicone-seal a split panel as a permanent answer. Sealant over a gap holds water against the timber and often makes the frame behind deteriorate faster than leaving the gap open would. Where a quick seal is genuinely useful — before a wet spell, for example — we'll say so, but our quoted repairs aim at the fixing, the frame and the weather line together rather than a smear of sealant across a symptom.
Booking your repair
Get in touch by phone or through the website, and tell us the shed's size, age and material, what the damage looks like and roughly when it happened. A photo helps but isn't essential. You'll pay a booking fee when you book, labour is charged hourly at a rate that depends on how soon you need the visit, and the full cost is quoted and approved before we start, with any parts quoted separately.
How the price works
We charge a booking fee to hold your slot, then an hourly rate for the work itself. The fee changes with how soon you need us; the hourly rate changes with the slot you choose. You approve the price before we start, so there is no surprise on the invoice.

We diagnose on site
The engineer confirms the cause and tells you what the job involves and how long it should take.
You approve, we work
Nothing goes ahead until you agree the price. Labour is then charged per hour at your slot rate.
Damaged shed walls let rain, damp and draughts creep into the whole building, and small splits can hide larger problems behind them. Our visit looks at the cladding, the frame behind it and the condition of the structure, so the repair we quote deals with the cause rather than the symptom. You approve the full cost before we touch anything.
What our customers say about our outdoor & exterior service
4.6 out of 5 from 10 reviews
Sorted the same day
Rang in the morning and they got to us in Wolverhampton by early afternoon. Very clear about what needed doing, what it would cost and what could wait. No pressure to add extras. Exactly the sort of tradesperson you want.
Job: Uneven Shed Base
Turned up when they said
Turned up in the window they promised, walked me through the options (turns out the previous installer had left the pipework awkward to get to), then cracked on. Everything was tested before they left. No mess, no drama, no surprise on the bill.
Job: Water-Damaged Patio
Good work, poor communication
Work itself was fine and tidy. Communication beforehand was patchy — I did not get the confirmation message and had to ring to check the slot. Would still use again.
Job: Sinking Driveway

Questions people ask about damaged shed walls
Straight answers to the things customers ask most often before booking.
Can I replace a damaged shed panel myself?
Swapping a single loose board is within reach of a confident DIYer, but identifying whether the frame behind is sound, matching the cladding properly and sealing the weather line correctly are where things go wrong. If damp has been getting behind the panel, a like-for-like swap often fails within a season — an assessment first saves money.
What do you check on a wall damage visit?
We inspect the cladding panel by panel, check the frame behind for rot and movement, look at the floor and roof junctions, and assess the base for damp that keeps the bottom of the walls wet. Then we explain the options and quote before starting.
Do you need to treat the whole wall or just the damaged part?
It depends on what the assessment finds. Isolated damage can often be repaired board by board, but if water has been tracking behind the cladding, a larger section may need re-cladding to properly close the weather line. We'll show you what we found and quote accordingly.
Will the repair match my existing shed?
We source the closest available cladding and fixings, and treat or finish repaired areas so they weather alongside the original. Exact matching isn't always possible on older sheds, and we'll be upfront about that before quoting so you can decide.
How much does shed wall repair cost?
You pay a booking fee when you book, and labour is charged hourly at a rate that depends on how soon you need us. The full cost is quoted and approved before work starts, with any parts quoted separately — no work goes ahead without your approval.
